Review - St. Ives Apricot Scrub

Figured I'd do a quick review of this before going out of town (again) for work. I've been trying out St. Ives Apricot Scrub - Blackhead and Blemish control for the past 4-5 days.

For a while I have had a couple of friends that has been using this stuff. They act like it is one of the best things on the face of the earth so I finally decided to try it for myself. So far I have to say that it is working out really well for me!! It has these tiny little grains inside the cream that is designed to exfoliate your skin. Plus, it helps scrub out the dirt/oil that's deep in the pores as well.

After I get done rinsing it out, my face feels very clean and I can clearly see that the blackheads are much less noticeable. In my opinion that says a lot especially since forehead/nose area tend to get fairly oily when waking up the next morning. In fact, I'm not for certain but I think this stuff even helps shrink the pores around my nose a bit.

I have used this stuff to wash all of my face except for my eyelid area. For no particular reason, I am still using my old face cleanser for that. I guess the reason might be because I'm afraid one of those grains will accidentally get in my eyes. Or perhaps I was afraid this wouldn't wash my face well before trying it out. It's important that my eye area is clean, especially while putting in contacts.

The only disadvantage I see so far is rinsing out all those little grains can be a bit of a pain. It takes a bit longer and sometimes it'll get in the hairline or eyebrows. For those who have little time to get ready in the morning, I recommended using this scrub RIGHT BEFORE taking a shower. So that way you just stand in front of the shower and let the water rinse it off for you. Trust me it's much faster that way!!

Overall it's a great product and I'll probably buy it again. I rate this an 8 out of 10!

I so know what you mean about the grainy bits being hard to wash away! UGH it can be so annoying when you touch your hair or face and you feel left over scrub!!

I find this one a bit harsh on my face but i use it on my body and it really keeps my elbows and knees smooth. Love the smell too (not too chemical not too scented!) xx

Yay! I love this stuff :) I use it 2-3 times a week cos I have VERY sensitive skin and dont want to rub it raw!! but it makes my face SO SMOOTH and glowing! I havent noticed any difference in my blackheads yet, but my pimples have gone down, except for this massive one on my cheek at the moment grrr Glad you like it, I get scared when other people dont like HG products of mine! I start re thinking whether or not I should be using it!!! Love your posts!! x

I've been using this scrub for a long time now and I love it :) I use it about 2-3 times a week (usually twice) and almost always in the shower. I know what you mean about it getting into your hairline - I often wear a shower cap if I'm washing my face with this at the sink to avoid that so maybe that would help you? It's a good idea to keep this away from the eyes so you're doing the right thing with that. And this scrub really helps me keep my face more smooth and acne free. I've noticed it because when I've gone on vacation without this /any exfoliator, my face gets a bit of acne during the course of a week.
Great review :)
