First Face of the Day (well kinda... lol)

Hello Dearies!

LOL... my last posting said that I was back and that was almost a month ago. Sorry, I got a little tied up with studying for finals and finishing up the semester.

Also, I recently purchased some things and wanted to do some more hauls/swatches. Somehow I lost the battery charger to my camera! I finally gave up search and bought me a new one.

This is kinda sorta my first face of the day look!! Actually it might be more of a Face of the Night since it's fairly well made up. Obviously this is not a FOTD of me (he he) and I didn't psychically apply this to anyone with my products. Instead this was done thru a site called Taaz and I'll do a breif review on this site in a future blog

Here are pics of what she looked like before and after. For a first timer I think I did alright. Many of the products I used are things that I own too! Except the blue eyeshadow by Lancome, but it's sooo gorgeous I might buy some soon! :-D

It feels so good to be blogging again :-)

Hey dolls!! How are all of you? It's been a long time and I was really starting to miss chatting with you all and miss posting blogs.

So much has happened in my life since I've been away. I initially planned on returning to blogging once life became less busy. However I told myself that months ago and life hasn't calmed down. I don't see it happening anytime soon so what the heck here I am again!! he he

The latest that has been going on with me is that I moved to a new city and bought a house!! I spent a lot of free time fixing it up and designing it to my liking. So far I am really excited how it's turned out. Also I have been working hard at finishing up college and will be graduating this December. Last but not least, my job has really picked up and the holiday season has added to that.

So now that is all out of the way, I think it's time to do a haul!!

These are some Revlon Colorburst lippies I bought last summer and I LOVVVE them. They're really nice looking shades and high quality too. They're like MAC lipsticks but only cheaper!!


I think Revlon Carnation is my favorite shade amongst the 4.

NARS and MAC haul!!

Getting so close to finally reaching my first 100 followers. I will definitely be giving out a VERY nice giveaway once I reach that point. I have a good idea what I'm gonna giveaway and I think you all will love it :-)

So I've been meaning to post this haul for sometime but I was away from the internet. I've been traveling a lot and recently had a birthday.

So here's what I purchased:

NARS blush and bronzer Duo (in Orgasm & Laguna): This one seems to be VERY popular and I can clearly see why. Both shades look spectacular and have been wanting to try them out for a while. I got this baby over on makeupalley and was originally going to buy both shades individually but figured the Duo would work better for me :-)



NARS Lipstick in Venice - I bought this at makeupalley by a really nice and helpful girl. I'm a real sucker for pink lippies like this. I recently saw some MAC lippies and a YSL that was a really pretty shade like this and may post a haul on those as well!!


MAC Fafi lippie in Utterly Frivolous - I first saw this lovely shade on somebody's blog a while back and thought it was a gorgeous shade. It took me forever to finally find someone that was selling this. I think this lippie has been discontinued.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NC20): I've seen so many tutorial videos/blogs of ladies raving about this one. In fact it was one of the very first items that got my attention when first getting interested in makeup. Right after receiving it I made the mistake of leaving it in my car on a hot sunny day. The concealer was "sweating" and it was very watery looking at the top. At first I was upset because I thought that I had accidentally ruined it. ha ha ha

Urban Decay Primer Potion: Another very popular item that I've been wanting to get for a long time. A while back I did buy some UDPP but it was in a shade called "Sin". It was alright but I think i'll like this kind better.


Maybelline Forever Metallics - Ruby Luster: I bought not 1 but 2 of these lovely lippies a few weeks ago. I went to an old FOTD blog and saw somebody using this one and just had to try it out. Since I have 2 of these. I think I will probably use 1 of them for my upcoming giveaway

First major MAC haul!!

Why hello there my lovely followers!!

I'm nearing my first 100 followers and am getting really excited about it!! In the beginning I only signed up so I could comment and follow other bloggers. I never thought I'd get a dozen followers much less 100!! I plan to do a giveaway when I reach the big 1-0-0 but I don't exactly know to get. Does anyone have any suggestions for prizes?

Revlon ColorStay Foundation in Buff:

I've heard so many great things about this foundation. Some say that it's a cheaper version of Mac's Studio fix fluid, and so I definitely wanted this to be one of the first foundations to try out! My good friend Aleksis was the one who actually recommended the shade Buff, because she said that I have almost the exact same skin tone as her :-)




Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze - in Eternal Bossom:

The color of this lipgloss is amazing. I first saw a beautiful blogger named KimberDoll wear it and said to myself I so gotta try it out. I don't know KimberDoll too well but she does good FOTD's and has great taste!




Covergirl Perfect Point Plus:

Eyeliner is one of the few remaining things I haven't closely looked over. I'm not sure about the quality of this. I kinda sorta randomly picked this one out and I bought it at drugstore dot com. It was listed as one of the best selling so I assumed that it was a good one. Have any of you tried out this eyeliner before??



L'Oreal Voluminous non-waterproof Mascara:

This mascara does wonders for one's eyelashes. It really does make them look super long and pretty! I like how this one is non-water proof so that way I can fully remove it with ease. It first got my attention when I started following Karen's blog. She is very gorgeous, she does some amazing eye makeup looks and has a great sense of fashion. I recommend you follow her blog too if you haven't already!!1



Almay Oil-Free eye makeup Remover pads:


This is labeled as being oil-free and hypoallergenic which is great since my face tends to get really oily and I have very bad allergies. I'm not sure how well this will work but I'll do a review after I use it a few times. So which makeup removers are really good? Which ones do you prefer to use?

Swap n' Sale (my experience so far)

This blog is a question to all of my followers. How many of you ladies participated in these swap and sale pages from websites such as specktra.net, makeupalley, etc?

Some of the makeup products I've been looking for as of late have been hard-to-find items that have been discontinued. After I do indeed find some of these items in the swap n' sale sections. I find it quite irritating to get my hopes up, only to be later disappointed because the other person goes *poof* and isn't around to complete the sale.

In fact, the last person I tried to purchase from wrote a VERY LONG story about how she had to sell off most of her collection in order to help pay her student loans. I figured that this would be a person much more willing to follow thru on selling/trading. But I was wrong and now she suddenly is nowhere to be found either. And it's not like I said anything to turn her off. All the conversation really consisted of was me asking if the item was still for sale, her saying yes, and then offering to pay for the price she was offering. That was 3 days ago... and haven't heard anything back.

Anyways it may sound like I'm ranting over nothing but this has been going on for about a week now. It's especially frustrating when it comes to rare items that I've discovered.

If you're somebody posting your items up for sale, then suddenly change your mind about wanting to sell. At least have the courtesy to tell the person know because letting a person hang like that is very rude in my opinion.

So is this how it usually goes in the swap/sale sections? Or am I just having some really bad luck?

Another Haul blog!!!

This is my 2nd purchase EVER believe it or not :-) Feels nice to be making another Haul blog!!

These 2 items here were purchased from Niki in Wonderland. I'm sooo glad that it came in because at first I wasn't sure that it would. Lately a couple of things weren't being delivered to me and I finally figured out why. The post office doesn't recognize packages that are addressed in a user-name!! Ughh....

So far I've spent a lot and I'm still far from done. He he he... I want my very first makeup collection to be special so I'm not holding back at all.

I just received another order of makeup products and I'll be doing a haul on those as well. Plus I'm gonna be buying a few items from EwwItsNikki here soon too and can't freakin wait to get some MAC eyeshadows from her!!

First and foremost this response is WAY overdue.... and sorry that I am just now responding to this. I've haven't been on internet much for the past week because I was working a lot. There was a big snow/ice storm that hit my area and I wanted to get as much of my work finished before it hit. Especially since I tend to travel on ocassion.

Speaking of snow/ice I couldn't help but notice that people were driving in the ice and didn't have a clue how to properly drive in it. I'm considering writing a blog on giving tips to driving in snow/ice and reducing chances of getting into crashes or getting stuck in it. Would ya'll like that? Let me know...

Fact 1. My favorite color by far is blue.

Fact 2. A few years ago I was involved in a car accident where a drunk driver hit me and 7 other people. The others who were involved in the accident suffered serious injuries such as whiplash, broken ribs, etc... The only injury I suffered however was a sprained wrist. Surprisingly, everyone was wearing their seat belts except me!

Fact 3. Techno is my favorite genre of music

Fact 4. My IQ is rated at around 138 even though I grew up with a severe learning disability.

Fact 5. I haven't consumed 1 ounce of alcohol in about 5 years.

Fact 6. Despite people knowing me here under my 'GeekyMacBoy' name. I actually go under an entirely different user name on youtube that has several thousand subscribers. What's the channel name you ask? Wouldn't you like to know!! LOL

Haul - My new makeup brushes!!

Hello my lovely followers!!

Okay well maybe they're not exactly makeup brushes but they come as close as it gets. Technically speaking these brushes were originally meant for painting. Believe it or not there are some paint brushes that are EXACTLY like the high quality makeup brushes. Evidently, my blog about such brushes isn't a grand revelation because a number of prominent bloggers have written about these before.

The shape, size, and hair from the bristles are basically the same as some of the well known MAC brushes. The major benefit for using such brushes is they are WAY cheaper than the name brands. In fact, I spent a grand total of about $15 for these 4 brushes, where as their MAC counterparts are about $40 a piece!!

I wouldn't have mind spending extra money on a MAC 239 & MAC 228 but I had already spent a lot of money on other things from last December. Since I REALLY wanted to go ahead and start building my makeup collection I decided to go the cheaper route.

I'll be sure and make an update blog and let you all know how well they work out for me. Since these are some of my first makeup brushes I'm not sure how accurate my critique will be. I don't have much experience using other brushes!!
